How many people here are actually British?

I'm not from the UK and I've stumbled across several other people on this thread who are not from the UK. I'm curious about how many posters here are actual British expats and how many are expats (or prospective expats) from elsewhere? Therefore, feel free to post your British/non-British status if you are comfortable.

About me, I'm not from the UK, but I'm from an anglophone country that used to be a territory of the UK one or two generations ago (depending on how long you define a generation).

Can you give us a clue...or tell us if it's a book or a film:blink:

I am British, although I haven't lived there permanently for a very long while. I was an expat in lots of other countries before I came to Canada...and all of them were warm:thumbup:

Maybe you were an expat in my country. Up until now, I've kept my country a secret but I guess I'm ready to reveal it now that I've been hired and named on an LMO. Besides, I recently discovered that I'm not the only prospective TFW on BE who's from here (despite the low population).

Here's what my country looked like in 1964/5:

Yes, although I wasn't trying to be secretive. MillieF asked for a hint, so I gave a hint rather than a direct answer. A simple wikipedia search would reveal the answer:

Being confused does not make one complicated.

You have a great idea. Let's assign numbers to newly mentioned countries when they appear. So far they're:

1. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (overseas territories non-inclusive)
2. The Bahamas
3. France
4. Algeria
5. United States

You don't have to type out the entire list when mentioning a new country.

I also understand that Canada is the 4th country you're living in. I got you the first time, even though your post can be read 2 different ways.
