I like the idea of having them as part of the picture.

Like you have some hot air balloons, say, and some are icons. Or small boats on a lake.

My husband actually shudders when he sees my desktop. He can't understand how I get to stuff quickly. Otoh I look at his desktop and come out in hives, it's so crowded.

My PC has this puffin shot that I took in Iceland last year- I may update this one after I have looked through the 2000 photos from our recent road trip
Phone sentimentally has me and Stinks on it but I do love this snap
Oh - I nearly forgot- laptop has a bald angle on it - thT may well change

Those damned hot air balloons are standard stock wallpapers on every computer, but I still take pictures of them when I see them. I used to use Kicking Bear's painting of Little Big Horn:

This one has the local connection - for me - and could include balloon icons perfectly.

I was tired and didn't spell check!
That is just my toolbar ...I use dual monitors- the bulk of the icons were on the other monitor!

Laptop is a beautiful picture of rolling Tuscan hills (standard Chromebook one).
iPad is a crop of an ancient stone tablet with cuneiform writing.
