I have no idea. Googling shows The base salary for New Brunswick MLAs is $85,000. Cabinet ministers currently earn an additional $52,614, and the premier getting another $79,000.

NB is the same as anywhere with the people can earn more in the private sector so one needs to pay well to attract the best mantra.

There is the pension to consider as well, of course. Take a break from lawyering for a couple of years and no matter how effective you have been as an MLA that's your pension sorted.

Shit. So I earned a bit more than the NB Premier? Glad to know. Perhaps I got a bonus for doing more good than harm.
