No, I wasn't "referring only to those in QC". I live in The Maritimes &, unlike you apparently, realise that Quebec is not the only place French is spoken as a first language by some of it's inhabitants.. If I have a point of reference for French Canada it is here.. (Try Googling Acadia.!?.).

As I made clear in my initial (intentionally clichéd post), I don't consider French Canadians to be French any more than I consider the Mexicans to be Spanish..

I've visited Quebec (including Montreal) & marveled at the "Fashion" first hand, it struck me as endearing that they try so hard to appear European..

Please don't stop bringing the full weight of your intellect to bear when criticising me, it's a little light relief & often humorous (In a Pecksiffian sense).. ..
I'd hardly call Acadia a good reference point for the French language. Acadian is nothing like the French spoken elsewhere in Canada. The francophone Canadians I know (from Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and Manitoba) struggle to understand it. I've given up trying.

I haven't seen it either. We've got the CD, though, because it has good music on it.

"Pubnico derives its name from the Mi'kmaq word meaning "cleared land". Settled in 1653 by Acadians, these villages (West Pubnico, Middle West Pubnico and Lower West Pubnico) make up the oldest Acadian settlement in the province."

The museum is built on land that until a few years ago contained the families home (no inside toilet or running water), my father-in-laws brother sold off the land without telling the family who were not impressed at all....found that out at the father-in-laws internment last year.

We certainly do not look cool going full retard over 2 "royals" from another country visiting. Makes me embarrassed to be Canadian and human. This is 2011 right?

I'd rather live in an uncool country than a sleaze-infested, corrupt, Murdoch-controlled island going to the dogs faster than David Beckham on heat.

Personally I think the attitude towards others is very cool here. If you put effort in then the people are fantastic.

And there is nowhere else I have ever been that can replace the very cool landscapes or even the weather patterns. You know where you stand here..

Europe is the uncool joke now. Totally corrupt and droll. Even the weather is off putting. hell, 2 weeks of sunshine and you are all sneaking your dirty bathwater out to water your gardens. Then it rains again and everyone is bitching again. Not to mention the disgusting attitude toward such things as football.

No, you can all think Canada is uncool if you wish, but those saying it without being here could do us all a favour and stay put wherever you may be.

And come on, Perth is cool? You have got to be joking, right?

How true. Most of the whingers are miserable sods regardless of where they live. Some should piss off and return to their working class lives.

Blighty (and Perth) are shitholes; if they were so good why move then?

I didn't. Do you mean Iceland or Ireland

What you described could be any number of countries, including North American ones.

Harper and Murdoch are no strangers to each other if i recall.
