How annyoing are these threads?

When you read responses, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page - would it not be easier if the new answers appeared at the top?

Just a thought!

I think you can change it in "My Profile" under "Thread Display Options".

It's ok - I've changed the options now, so the new one comes out on top, but thanks anyway

Well, hopefully everyone will take pity on me!
There are so many questions to ask, when you have visited Canada numerous times [well over 20] and you start the immigration process it's a different ball game. Hopefully that's what this forum is for, so that us newbies can ask our daft questions.

Strangely I'm not atually looking to ban anyone...I am just here to keep some order and act as necessary if asked. Of course, it wouldnt be too wise to be provoking me either....

Out of politeness its good form to look for the answers in the wiki and in previous posts too. Its often easier than waiting for someone with the info you want to come along, and often the old hands will not reply to something they have answered a dozen times before, so you miss out that way too.

Questions are of course always welcome, but there is VERY LITTLE that has not been asked before.

If people are bored of answering them , its my hope that they can just ignore what they dont want and move on to something else, but of course, by not searching, you also miss out on the "wisdom" of the old hands who choose not to answer a question they may have replied to a dozen times before or even added to the wiki

That would be a shame for all the following reasons: The previous answers may be out of date and no longer relevant; New users must surely be able to feel that they can ask questions freely [no matter how stupid they may seem to Canadian residents - people would not ask the question if they knew the answer]; If the first answer to "What do you miss .." or "Is life better in Canada .." had all the wisdom from the old hands, surely nobody would post that question again? Surely you need to be encouraging questions from new members so that they feel they have a more personal response? Also, if people don't want to reply they don't have to [rather than being rude, as some clearly are].

I understand the logic in searching through previous questions, and on a purely practical level you may find the answer you were looking for, but take this to the extreme, and you will just have a stock of old answers, no new questions, and numerous "old hands" strumming their fingers with nothing to do!

Please keep this forum fresh and new and encourage new members to ask whatever questions they need to. After all, for some people this will be their first taste of Canadian life, and it all goes towards how people feel about the country and it's people.

Sorry if I've gone on a bit, but we need to be encouraged and welcomed!
