House Renovations

5 Attachment(s)
There are several posters on BE that enjoy carrying out renos and DIY, so I thought I'd share what progress we've made since moving house last November.

The house consists of 3 floors of 1,500 sq/ft each. The basement was unfinished, and there were 6 bedrooms on the top floor. We've now got 4 bedrooms there, and 2 in the basement (with a lounge/kitchen and bathroom). Only 3 internal walls were left alone, and we've installed a new kitchen, re-sided, built a barn, re-modeled the driveway, re-floored throughout and are currently working on new decks.

The pics are before and after - some a few weeks old and the 'after' pics have moved on somewhat, but they give a sense of the alterations.

Yeah, you've got a big house. No need to show off;)

Edit to add: You've not told us what room the grow-op is in.

It needed to be big enough to contain a MIL at a safe distance :)

What do you think I built the barn for?

It was the right thing to do to take that ghastly modern style kitchen out and put good old country oak back.;)

Hmmm. Passable accommodations, I suppose. Please post pictures of your cars and other possessions to allow us to fully determine whether or not you are SFSA*.

Look closely at the basement pic and you'll see the beautiful country oak kitchen got a re-furb and installed there. Nothing's too good for the inlaws. ;)

Did you manage to save the lovely border from the bathroom and reuse it? (The one with some kind of birds on them). Or is that the 'after' pic?

Sadly not :(

I took a carefully retained swatch to a paint store to match it but the scanning machine just suggested an alternative bile colour instead.
