Hi Elvira. :) I love opera... Very loud. And I've just realised I love listening to it when I'm lifting weights - odd! but it's so powerful, so why not?

Hi, we've been in the US for 10 years. I was born and raised in Sheffield, lived in Macclesfield/Bramhall, Cheshire for a while then moved to Chester. Our daughter will be starting her final year at the University of Toronto and loves it. Actually she is doing summer classes there right now. Toronto is a fabulous city. I have never seen so much construction going on in one place before!!

I often look in on this forum as I can relate to members from the Toronto area. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hi everyone,

So I guess it's ok to say Beaver, Pussy (cat), etc etc without anyone getting antisocial. Not that I particularly have anything to say on the subject it's just in case it comes up in the future.

Hi CasG, I think I may have seen you knocking around in the Lounge, on the odd occasion my threads have been moved :(

I worked with a few people that left for Australia, but they were back in the UK within a year!!

Hello :) - yeah...or/and TIO

I love it here, and have been here for 18 months...and each day I thank my lucky stars I'm here :)

Why were your threads moved? Too naughty, or not naughty enough?! lol :D

I don't think they were particularly naughty. ;) but I suppose that is subjective depending on how naughty YOU are!!

I hear from people that have been that Australia is not a very 'PC' country, would that be a fair assessment or not? Unlike Canada which is tolerant and accepting of everyone (apart from a small group of people on the Canadian site who have been degreed as not suitable for main stream society and have been shunted off in to a side room :D

Firstly - I'm always angelic  ;) :D

Australians, I find are very tolerant - BUT, they don't suffer fools .....as long as you are willing to work and play hard...then you'll be right.

As for being PC...lets just say, they call a spade a spade.

I find them lovely, friendly people generally. :)

Hi, no sorry not watching the England game, not really in to footy, generally only watch if they get to the final.......i assume it's not the final

I'm not a fan of the dentist, got flipped over the handle bars of my cycle a few years ago, face first in to the road......it hurt a lot, smashed a few teeth, took a while and a fair few pennies to sort that out!
