Default Hello, this is England calling....

Hellobonjour to my old moose-loving chums. Has the snow melted yet?

Back in the UK since last October and absolutely loving it, darlings. Had a stroke of luck on the job front; not five minutes after I got home, an agent rang me and said that he was looking for someone with exactly my experience, but the only trouble was that the location was “a bit out of the way”.

Turned out “a bit out of the way” was 15 minutes from my house. Home for tea every night. ‘Back of the net!’ as my neighbour Alan Partridge would say.

What news from the colonies?

It's alright for some.

Vancouver is still the hellish experience as it’s always been. Although I shouldn't really complain as the weather has been fairly nice lately, the fishing has been stellar, I have finally found a decent Indian takeaway, the Canadian dollar has dropped so I’ve got a comparative pay rise, work bought me a posh new office sofa and to top it all off, the women’s world cup is in town so evenings out might be looking up for a few weeks but that said, apparently the price of sushi is set too go through the roof.

I've clearly missed the discovery of the Norfolk oil fields on the news? Good news on the commute though. How is the family coping with having you around all the time?

As it happens I'll be around your parts this weekend. Driving up from London tonight & dining here Welcome to the fox and goose — Fox & Goose tommorrow with family.

I'll keep an eye out for drilling rigs/massive haul trucks on the way.

(By the way, well done in channelling Lord Haw-Haw and Antoine de Caunes, in one post!)

If we were still in the UK I could have seen us living in Norfolk or Suffolk. Nice healthy distance from the inlaws!

Good day sir - lovely to hear you are settled at 'ome.

The winter here was a doss this year. It's been Spring since February. (no, really)

The Norfolk patch must have been delighted you came back to help them out.

Do swing by every few months to check up on us here, festering away in the colonies.
