I sort of expected somebody else to beat me to it...but none did....so..

Very Happy Canada Day!

The nicest holiday here. I walked down to Officers Square at midday and it was full of junk food but bands were starting to play and there were lots of young families and older people who looked like they were having fun. There were also a good smattering of 'foreigners' who looked happy and included and there was a very nice atmosphere all round. Vanilla? Yes...but that's not always a bad thing! It was too hot for me, so we had an ice cream (vanilla too!) and left, but my son and husband are going back for the fireworks this evening.

We have family in Peace River and Calgary and they had parades and all sorts planned!

My first Canada Day...I celebrated by wearing the colours and drinking copious amounts of wine and chocolate cream liqueur.

Excellent firework display on Toronto's Harbourfront last night. I could almost reach out and touch them. Lots going off down there today and more fireworks tonight to the east and west of us.

Moved house. Into first house of our own in Canada after 3 years renting. Kids knackered from volunteering at town celebrations at weekend. OH and I knackered from moving boxes and furniture so skipping fireworks for prosecco. Happy Canada Day to all.

We went to kits beach for a few hours and an alfresco brunch, then some beers and appys this evening

our 1st Canada Day too! We had friends over for a BBQ and rather a lot of beer, then popped next door to watch the fireworks from the balcony. Very civilised!!

At the second of the two Canada Day BBQ's I attended yesterday I drank a bottle of Molson Canadian to display my true patriot love. Won't be doing that again in a hurry.

Happy Canada Day across the board! We spent the evening driving back from the cottage, so didn't get to see any fireworks, though we did hear plenty! Still was a nice day generally.

We started at 6am getting ice cream loaded up for a day and evening at the Inner Harbour in Victoria. Got into bed at 12.30am! Mind you - we'd sold out of ice cream by 7.30pm! Have to bring more next year. Very long tiring day but a good time was had by all. My phone battery had run out by the time the fireworks started so didn't get any pics of that. Great display by the water taxis though.

Why? Is it not nice? I ask, as I'm not a beer drinker, but when it's hot will have the occasional one, as long as it's good and frosty....here I do like Sleemans Original...but it's possibly the nicest I've happened on so far.

I have a milestone birthday coming up at the end of the summer, and friends are telling me I have to drink a quart bottle of cinquante that has been sitting out in the summer sun all day.

We went to Wal-Mart on Canada Day. Girlfriend had to work, and I spent the day home watching TV, and surfing the net. Small town too and not much going on for celebrations, no fireworks or anything. We live in an apartment so don't neighbors either, and from what I could tell nobody in the complex was doing anything, all the common use bbq's and tables in the yard were empty, but I am pretty sure we are the only couple under 60....lol

I was at Harbourfront as well on Monday night- thought the fireworks were amazing! My fourth Canada Day and celebrated by enjoying the weather and watching soccer oops I mean football!
