One negative with Bonfire night is that the fireworks drive the dog crazy. In fact the impact of fireworks on nature is something that mildly bothers me.

Besides, if that floats your boat you can do that here in July, and still feel your face by the end of the evening:D Of course, there is a good chance here that at the end of an evenings trick or treating if you missed a bit of costume coverage your kids might lose an appendage to frostbite, but they think its worth the risk for a boatload of sweeties from strangers... If you want alcohol, fireworks and bonfires the best place I've ever been is Copenhagen on New Years Eve. Crazy vikings setting of fireworks everywhere, including from apartment windows. Christmas trees are heaved out onto the streets and then set on fire. We even saw a flaming settee being pushed out of a building and into the lake. Sirens going off everywhere, smoke from the fireworks and squadrons of low flying confused ducks. That was a good night.:thumbsup: |

Bonfire night is warmer!!!! I think halloween should be moved to the middle of the summer. Wandering the streets in the cold and the dark is not much fun for the parents.
I suppose then AllSaints needs to be moved too? |

I got dragged to a Halloween corn maze and haunted house in Truro NS last night,(went to pub hence my attendance) with Mrs and her work colleagues... it was heaving!!!
All quite cheesy - you wandered through a track cut through a corn field and there were various 'shocks' :eek: along the way...ie local teens dressed up as zombies etc. :zzz: Then there was the haunted house which I found far more interesting from a how did they achieve the special effects? perspective. But again a bit ott and cheesy. Would much rather be at a Bonfire and fireworks display! |
