I had the compression settings set really high from the time I crammed all my avatar photo's in to it.
Here is a better version, less jagged

I'll keep it simple. An animated gif is made up of several frames (or seperate pictures). Some graphic editors wrongly treat the animated gif as just one frame (just the first picture of the sequence). Its not your fault, more the fault of the program or web site you used.
