Google home mini

I have a question: I use my google home mini to listen to the radio and for several months I’ve been listening to Classic FM. But last Friday when I instructed it to “okay google play Classic FM” a beep came on which informed me that the station is “not available in your country”. I'm able to get all the BBC stations plus various others and have started playing Chill FM but I can’t get Classic FM anymore.

Does anyone have any idea why?

Thank you!

Try listening to pop music. It's a hit with the kids.

I found Radio 6 was just too stressful.

Weird.
Can you load this page on a phone/tablet/PC and then stream the audio to the mini?

If it’s ny consolation it’s not available on Amazon Echo either, but I can stream it on Tune-in Radio.

Thanks for the suggestions. Chill FM seems to also come via Tune In too. Odd that Chill is available but Classic isn't (via the Mini)

I just like the radio on especially when I'm home alone.
I'm starting to prefer Chill. It doesn't seem to have ads for the Daily Telegraph (a plus!) but there's not much presenter chat which may or may not be a good thing.

It's available online - https://www.classicfm.com/

You can either use the app or listen online (web based)... firefox / chrome uses google global player for it. ( www.globalplayer.com) which has a direct link to classicfm
:)

Do you have a Roku player for your TV. They have hundreds of radio stations built in and I'm sure classic FM is one of them.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone: no I don't really watch TV: my parents thought I was quite odd in that regard when I was a child!

Noticed also asking Alexa to play Radio X via Tune In now plays nothing. For Google, the way around it for Global Player stations like Classic FM is to download the "Global Player" app on your mobile and then cast Classic FM from there, so slightly less convenient.

Thanks very much I'll have to ask one of the daughters to help (technically) but meanwhile I've got used to Chill FM which for some reason I can still get.

But I would like the option of Classic FM should I choose.

Re: Google home mini

If ClassicFM doesn't work, you could always try the Toronto classical station, Alexa plays it through TuneIn for me, and I imagine google home does something similar. I ask it to "Play Classical 96.3 Toronto" and off it goes. Rather more pop classics and film scores than Classic FM (or at least than the last time I listened regularly to ClassicFM a dozen years ago) but generally a good mix, some interesting presenters. The station is part of Moses Zneimer's stable, so there are lots of annoying cross-promotional ads for his other stuff, and way too many "visit our lovely retirement village" ads in the rotation, but they stop being too intrusive after a while.

If all that fails, then Spotify has some excellent classical playlists.

Make sure you don’t have a VPN set to another country. That will throw off your listening to it.
