I don't know about fascists, but all the people I knew who liked Rush were smelly students, with crap beards, who couldn't get girlfriends so they played Dungeons and Dragons and all weekend. Make of that as you wish.

I've never really liked the Cocteau Twins, though I think Liz Fraser has a lovely voice. Have a listen to this one she did with Craig Armstrong. He mainly does soundtrack stuff, but coincidentally, also worked with Massive Attack in the past.

Not so keen in the Cocteau Twins track, but somehow can hear some Rush-like guitar in it.
Speaking of which, no Good Music Thread on BE Maple Leaf forum would be complete with one of the best Rush tracks ever, crap video but great music:
This song should be on the Canadian citizenship test as it alludes to Quebec-Anglo Canada relations.

I really like these:
This next one reminded me of how shocked I was the first time I went to Northern Ireland and saw armoured police cars and anti rocket defenses outside police stations and the like.
I would love to go back someday to see if the decades that have passed since I was last there have resulted in such things being as alien now as they were to me then.

Some absolute classics from the 90's AC. I find that Dolores has the most Irish voice in music history!

For some reason, I always think of Kirsty MacColl as an Irish singer. This one always reminds me of my school leaving days. Great cover:
