Im probably lagging behind here, but has anyone seen Black Mirror?
I've just started watching this, only watched 4 episodes and I'm hooked, the fact that its set in the not too distant future, and focuses on the consequences of modern technology and modern societal behaviour.
Its fantasy....but in my opinion unnervingly close to what the near future of society could become, if it follows its current path. Quite thought provoking. It is also laced with some excellent black humour in places!

The last three pages have Shetland, Norsemen, the incredibly crude White Gold, Quacks, Wallander, Run, Ozark, Line Of Duty, Strike, Missing....all pretty mainstream really.
Admittedly not typical CBS output like CSI and NCIS.
In comparison, Bake off might be considered a bit middle class.
Back- Mitchell and Webb "sitcom" - very well reviewed- I havent managed to see this yet but seems to be very good

I'm not sure any outsiders looking in would think the stuff recommended here was particularly highbrow.

Seen a few sketches . It would likely be a must watch for me in the UK in the same way a kick up the 80s, NTNOCN and who dares wins always was.

That last season was by far the worst. Freaks was 'enjoyable' , Hotel was ok, mainly centred around GaGa whose acting it has to said is somewhat one dimensional. Cult- this opened quite well with a reprise appearance of one of the bad guys rather than just reprising the actors.. I will continue watching

Except Stephen King's 'It'...SD really hates clowns. Finds them dead scary.

My wife used to watch. I'm surprised the stepkids don't. Anything vaguely horror related is unmissable. (Although today's vampire stuff isn't really horror what with them being real and everything. )

Rellik BBC1.
I just watched part one tonight on iPlayer. Highly enjoyable but be prepared for something different. Watching each segment in flashback.
There was a movie 'Memento' done similarly but I couldn't handle it. This is easier once you get used to it.
