Watched it before but just binged on the SHETLAND series. Got a better appreciation as to why it and actors won so many awards. Great television viewing. A new series is planned to come later this year. I look forward to it greatly.

If you do nothing else this year watch Norsemen on Netflix...it's a Norwegian comedy and it is funny. I binge watched it and loved it.
I also enjoyed White Gold, and I'm not sure why, it's crude and crass but rather amusing, about double glazing salesmen in the 1970's the music, styles, and cars take one back a bit, it's well done and not a bit rosy spectacles for yester year. Totally unsuitable for children.

I loved Shetland. If you like Shetland you may enjoy Hinterland and Wallander which are both on Netflix. Very similar....brooding, troubled lead detectives.

I couldn't agree more, highly entertaining - I watched the whole series and was left wanting more...I hope they'll be a series 2. It made me look the Ozarks up, they really do look visually stunning, although a little too socially like NB for my comfort
I've also just enjoyed Run which is four episodes that follow four loosely linked characters living in London, I think it looked like Brixton, but it didn't say. Some really good acting - Olivia Coleman for one. Well worth the effort.

Episode 1 of Run should be shown to people who think the streets of London are paved with gold.
Just started watching Season 4 of Line of Duty which I just discovered is on Super Channel (on demand) which is no longer on free preview by September 1. Hopefully that will get on to Netflix soon.

Language today is dreadful...it's a Last Exit from Brooklyn situation...it becomes meaningless. I watched 1000 Ways to Die in the West with my 16 year old, who said "how stupid that the language was so bad, they'd have a much wider circulation if they just cleaned it up a bit". Young people are evidently not impressed by it either.
I am no f**g prude but I've had an effg nuff of it!!!
I often ask my elderly neighbour in to watch something and I have to be very careful what I stick on.
Please....somebody watch Norsemen...it's brilliant (maybe I've been in Canada too long) and no bad language...as I recall

New series on BBC, 'Strike' based on the first novel of Robert Galbraith, seems pretty good, unfortunately only 3 episodes in this first series, hope they do use the other books, the books are very well written, but then again they should be, Robert Galbraith is in reality JK Rowling.

Do you mean a million? I can't recall it being "that bad"
Okay, just for you...I'll report back shortly.
Maybe the subtitles sanitised it.

When you mentioned it the other day I looked it up, saw it was called Vikingane. I assumed subtitles, which is fine and preferable to being dubbed which I hate.
Apparently the makers filmed two language versions.
I just watched the first two episodes and it's a winner. Hilarious. By no means 'clean' though.
I recognised a couple from Lilyhammer.
Now I'm going to settle back and watch some more. It reminds me a little of Chelmsford 123.

I was waiting for part 7 of Norsemen to begin because I had seen on IMDB it had 9 parts.
It seems just six for now and three scheduled toward the end of the year.
Very funny though. Everyone should take Millie's advice.

New series of Bake Off
My thoughts-
Prue is fine, a little more scary but I never though Mary was a loss TBH
Paul is Paul- no change there
Noel Fielding- I like him, always have- doesnt take himself seriously - someone reviewing the programme said his voiceovers grated- I think these were fine- I think he will bring the light amusement back
Sandi is a very good speaker, she is more of a lead in a programme not second fiddle- I think that she is the worst fit
No spoilers, bakers are a mixed bag, basically a lot of women scousers and some toff irritating men
There you go, shoot me down girls
