Finished off season 3 of Barry. Still as weird as usual
Binged Peaky Blinders series 6 over the last few days. Stands up pretty well to the other series.
Continuing with Norsemen, we're on season 3 or 0 Still funny
Unforgotten series 4 completed, great as ever, will be very curious to see what series 5 brings given the events of series 4
Obi Wan Kenobi is also rather good.
I started the boy on the Lost In Space series, and he really likes it. I'd forgotten quite a bit of season 1, so it's nice to refresh the old grey matter

I finished Peaky Blinders last night. I think the last season disappeared up its own arse in terms of its self indulgence over style & the storyline was rather weak.

Agree about OBK though,

The third season of "For All Mankind" has dropped on Apple TV and is to be recommended. An alternate history of the space race, we're now up to the 1990's and going to Mars!

Watching Black Sands on CBC Gem. Nordic Noir from Iceland that would appeal to gloom porn fans. Lots of brooding music that sounds like Brian Eno was involved.

I've been plugging this in a different thread with no takers.

I know there are some fans of Nordic/Scandi shows here so I'll have another go.

Finnish show, 2 seasons, called Shadow Lines. Or NYRKKI in Finnish, which is apparently FIST. It's their CIA/KGB and it takes place in the late 50s, with a mix of fiction surrounding the fact. It's the best Spy/political (small p) intrigue thing I've seen since the phenomenal The Bureau - a French series.

Shadow Lines is available on Sundance and SBS, plus other sources.

Not nordic noir, but rather "Nordic disaster movie", I recently watched "The Burning Sea" on Prime Video. Its from the same team that did "The Wave" and the "The Quake" although not I think a direct sequel, although I haven't seen them. Its rather good as formulaic disaster movie goes. Think Deepwater Horizon but in Norwegian with subtitles and no Marky Mark.

It sounds very familiar (don't many of them ) but it seems too recent for me to have seen.
Bookmarked.

It reminded me about Trapped and there's a third season to look out for.
First two seasons are on Netflix so the third might be there soon.

A third season of Trapped you say? Netflix needs to get a move on that, really enjoyed the previous two seasons.

Stranger Things 4 part 2: finished it off. Very good. I thought this was the final season for some reason, but it would appear there will be a season 5.
The Umbrella Academy Season 3: As weird and bizarre and entertaining as the prior two seasons.
For all Mankind: It continues to impress

It's really impressive isn't it. Every episode is like Eh? or Ah, gottit or umm...but how?

I do have a problem remembering who is who and from when and who are they related to.

When I watched a few episodes from S1 I thought it very Twin Peaks-ish in atmosphere, settings and characters, taking elements of the original and the return versions, notably the black lodge/cave in the forest and TP's orb and weird kettle stuff with Dark's black fuzzy thing-come sphere.
There were even lines lifted from TP - "It is happening again" and forms of "what year is this?"

Lots of people agreed - I saw some reddit comments - and a lot saw similarities with Stranger Things and Twin Peaks.

I've not seen Stranger Things but is Dark really the German version? From reading the plot and reviews there don't seem that many similarities, at least no more than a typical cop show where he or she consistently misses their kid's 'game' or school play what with investigating the case.

Anyway, I'm just about to start S3, confused but highly entertained.

No, Dark is not the German version of stranger things.
I did rewatch all of Dark as a binge, thus things from the prior seasons were very fresh. Yes I knew the outcome as it was a rewatch, but that did not matter and the show was still great.

Up to S3 episode 3. I think my brain must be overloaded now.

One episode to go.

Frankly I don't know if I can be bothered. S3 has had its moments but I feel like I've been on a spectacular world tour that's been ruined by being stuck in an airport unable to get home.
