Then I decided to watch Big, Little Lies. 3 eps...so far so good.

I thought the Undoing was great until the last episode, which just let the side down.

I'm curious to hear what you think of Big Little Lies. I loved it to bits, start-to-finish. Even season 2 is great.

We're 3 episodes in and I like it so far; definitely weird but interesting. g/f is ready to give up, I'm hoping we can continue to watch it together. Having quit drinking, it's quite a shock to see just how much she drinks ... I remember being a bit like that when I traveled ... raiding the mini-bar, desperately hung-over the next day ...

I enjoyed the first series. Second not so much, but I have a couple of eps left.

It's not 'Spiral' but Flics (Elite Squad) S1 (4 parts) is quite good. And Audrey Fleurot has a role.

I saw the Walter Presents caption so I assume it's on C4 somewhere.

French. in Paris.

Finished 'Flight Attendant'. Overall, not bad.
Spoiler:

I thought the transition of Miranda from feared assassin to best buddy trying to help her was a bit jarring, but otherwise - it hung together well.

Two nights ago, we tried the new HBO show '30 coins'; "... blends religious horror with Lovecraftian elements" ... Very weird. I didn't get into Lovecraft at all, and I think this one is going to suffer the same fate. Subtitled, which these days gives me a headache (probably eye strain).

Last night, we watched part 1 of the Tiger Woods documentary on HBO ("Tiger"). WOW! I f**ing hate golf, so would never have given it the time of day, but the g/f wanted to see it and it's a fascinating story and definitely worth a watch. They show how he was groomed by his father to be a golf wiz, and show some of his most amazing golf shots, which were good enough to entertain even me! I mean, I'd rather watch paint dry than watch golf in general (or play it!) but he sure did hit some magical shots! Gives great insight into how ultra-focused people like this are dysfunctional in many ways. Part 1 paints a picture of a brilliant, 'perfect' superstar. Apparently Part 2 (next week) gets into his 'decline' (womanizing, etc).

Also last night, inspired by 'Tiger', we watched the documentary by Michael Phelps about the pressures and consequences of Olympic fame. "The Weight of Gold". Basically, shows how the complete and singular focus on achieving gold at the Olympics leaves athletes totally empty afterwards, with several committing suicide. Paints a very unfortunate picture, quite understandable to me. My own niece was at one time 'on track' to compete in the olympics, and I could not believe how hard she had to work, and how it impacted her life.

I have just started watching "Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled". Only 1 episode in, but it's very funny.

Alan Davies, as in the resident "straight man" on QI? I imagine that could be extremely amusing.

Quite Interesting (QI) fact - Alan Davies is the only person to have been in every single episode of QI from the very start.

Personally I don't like him, he's annoying and juvenile, and if I may be permitted to turn into my father for a moment, he needs a haircut.

Funny that I used not to like him that much, but as of late... I can't decide whether I've mellowed a bit or he's improved...

Started watching 'The Nest' on Acorn. Featuring Martin Compston (Line of Duty) in his natural accent which is a lot different than his Line of Duty accent. Good suspenseful thriller. Originally on BBC.

My wife watched all of the George Gently series which she really enjoyed. The north of england in the late 60's/early 70's was all well done and familiar to me so I was on translation and context duty at times with her.

We have a couple of weeks left in an Amazon Prime Canada preview. Any suggested shows from BE members.?

Indeed. I've been watching a lot of QI, and there have been times when it's had me roaring with laughter, and thought I'd check out his other show.

I just started (3 episodes) with 'Bosch' on Amazon Prime, recommended by a UK friend. So far so good. Lots of seasons to go. Anyone else enjoying that?

I have tried a couple of times, couldn’t get into it. I intend to keep trying because it is supposed to be good.
