There is a free 7 day trial, so you can always create an account and see if there is anything there that you like
Britbox now has BBC, ITV Ch4 and Ch5. Ch4 has just been added.

You might find that the episodes are cut as well.

When I discovered Spooks - by accident catching an episode on PBS - I worked my through the lot on different streaming sources (fantastic TV) but occasionally the version someone had uploaded was MI-5 as originally broadcast on American TV which had reservations about the title Spooks.

Apparently cuts were made to some episodes for ad breaks.

I'm going to give another shout for Cardinal.

I recommended it previously for its Scandi-like qualities (even though it's Canadian) - the music, the overhead shots - and I'm just catching up with it. It's a little more 'tame' than Scandi but still very good.

I watched 'Cold Pursuit' last night on HBO. It's amazingly good! I don't quite know how to categorize it; the story is quite unoriginal - simple man loses his son, and sets about tracking down the drug dealers who were responsible. But the tone, the pace, the mood, the style ... something quite remarkable. Perhaps not unlike 'Fargo' (the movie)? It's absolutely hilarious in parts. Anyone else seen it and like it?

(edit to add ... I didn't read any reviews, just stumbled across it while surfing channels. Looking at reviews now, seems like it's not that popular. Glad I didn't read any reviews because I found it delightful!).

I saw the original a couple of years ago.

The first page (at least) of reviews on IMDB are positive. I'm guessing a lot of negative reviews referenced Liam Neeson saving/avenging his daughter and now his son.

The drug dealer, his estranged Native American wife, and their son, are perhaps the best part (especially the dietary needs). The best scene of all ... the bedtime story reading brochures!

Seen, yes, last evening.

Like, no, not in the slightest.

Yep, we've watched season 1 and 2 in the last week or so. Excellent. Do you normally get Acorn? we have it on a 1 month trial and are considering keeping it. It is bundled into Amazon Prime which is also on a 1 month trial.

Had you really never seen Picard or TNG (Star Trek: The Next Generation) until now? When I saw Sharkus' original post, I thought it was rather amusing because I assumed there wouldn't be a person on the planet who was not familiar with TNG!

It's still one of my all time favorites, and I've seen every episode maybe 20 times. It 'works' on so many levels.

(subject - Cold Pursuit movie)

Interesting! I'm always amazed when someone really doesn't like something that I find really, really good! Did you like Fargo (the movie)?

I'm vaguely familiar with TNG, but not really that much. I'm not a die-hard trekkie by any means.

My viewing habits have changed over time, are still changing, and doubtless will continue to change.

For some reason or other way back I 'took' to the JLP character played by Patrick Stewart, so maybe this has been an easy re-entry??

It 'works' for me too.

Yes, I did enjoy Fargo moreso than Cold Pursuit...

My problem with Cold Pursuit lies with the director - I think.

It just seemed a huge 'borrow' of things that have been done way, way better by Guy Ritchie - who arguably 'borrowed' some of those ideas from Quentin Tarantino, but managed somehow to get away with it.

No gripe with the actors - glad to see that some of the fallout from The Wire found a means to keep the wolf from the door.
