I think you would like The Crime, Bristol ...it’s on Netflix and it’s Polish. I’m on Epi 2 and most enjoyable.

Poland looks utterly beautiful. I just Googled ‘what’s it like to live in Poland’ as I was so impressed! Apparently a lot of Poles don’t like the length of their winters! It would be a mere bagatelle after Atlantic Canada! The language sounds horrific though, I can’t take my eyes off the subtitles for a second.

I really liked the ‘I am Spartacus’ episode. I found the whole thing very empowering for girls and boys, a breath of fresh air.

I've added it to "my list"...I have tried a couple of Polish series but they didn't hit the spot. Maybe this will.

Did you see my question at the end of post 1512?

Just about to start S2 (or is it episode 4?).

A little difficult with the language initially, it was grating on me for bit, like a wasp caught in a jam jar.

That's some weird peninsula. Nice if the weather's good though.

I’m starting season two today...very horrid weather and I need something to focus on

Yes, wasp in a jam jar it is! Nothing relaxing or sexy with the sound of the language at all...if the language were less impenetrable I’d be off there like a shot, even the urban and city bits looked good...I wonder how much the Polish tourist board bunged them? Money well spent!

Me too...very much so. I try to find a family friendly show we can watch together and this is certainly proving to be a winner. I wished I liked the mother or the daughter or youngest child...but I don't...I/we liked the eldest son. Really enjoyable.

Speaking of family friendly...Sex Education will have a season 3.

It occurred to me the other day. It's basically Grange Hill for adults.

I told my son how very much I had enjoyed it...BUT how very much I would not be watching it With him...with the title he assumed it was a documentary and ignored it. Then he watched one... He then started watching and got to the end of both series. This was television that encouraged open conversation from a comfortable and humorous place...I like it The adults were doing things with the adults and the children were doing things with the children. This is how life IS...this series is healthy!

I have just finished this series Giri/Haji on Netflix and it was great.
50% Japanese with English subtitles, and the other half in spoken English. I think it was a joint Japanese & BBC production. All about the Japanese Yakuza and a London gangster.

Another Scandi drama. Spring Tide - Springfloden in Swedish. From 2016 with a second season in 2018.

Watched episode one tonight. Well up to standard so far.

I would highly recommend on BBC a drama called "Snowfall". It's about drug trade in LA in 1980s. Lead actor is Damson Idris who is British but does superb job as American drug dealer.
