Re: gifts
Hmm I am in a quandary. The son of very good friends married last year and when I visit in a few weeks I want to give them a gift. So I am wondering about a painting. I've scoured their photos on Facebook and am not inspired by anything in their honeymoon album which was my first idea. My next one is either a painting of the church they were married in or a looser interpretation of her bouquet. Roses and roses in close up. It wouldn't be twee and pretty pretty as that isn't my style. Also am not sure that my style would suit an English church, it's a little bold. I am thinking roses. More modern maybe? Or shall I get a John Lewis voucher?
Mands, you have some of my nudes!
PS. I sell work too

Ah Ha!! I didn't realise you were the Artist in Question :-)
My answer still stands, I'd be very touched by the gift, more so in the context you mention, even if I didn't like your style of painting ...
May be I can now nuance the question even more & ask how *you* would feel if on a subsequent visit, your painting is not on display ?

Re: gifts
Her stuff is awesome - truly lovely and the style is one that would go in either a traditional or modern place. Bats I don't think you need worry xxx

Re: gifts
I loved my wedding bouquet and I would be really touched if someone had given me a painting of it, although I'm not much into oil paintings....
