Default Getting smoke (electrical source) smell out of clothing

Anyone know how to get the smell out of clothing that resulted in smoke from an electrical fire?

Normal detergent even adding double didn't do much, still smells.

Or maybe there is noway to remove the smell?

Soak in baking soda solution.

Lay the clothing in single layers between sheets of newspaper.

Simply attach all articles of smoke infused clothing to the outlet of an engine on a jet aeroplane (airplane).

Switch the engine on and set to max thrust for 360 seconds. Dance. Smoke particles will be separated from clothes particles while you dance. Use a large net to recapture the clothes particles for reassembly.

You can put white vinegar in your machine and do a wash to get rid of standing water smells that machines get sometimes so it might work on clothing. Put it in the pre-wash drawer bit and add detergent as usual.

impossible to completely remove the smell, the carbon in the material & die of the clothing (molecular structure properties) has been burned/altered & cannot be restored to original. I did not make that up, its something I remember from my school days & the fact that my son burned a blanker caused by an electrical fire.

All the time spent, cost etc - suggest you chuck out whatever is burned & replace it

It's not burnt, I was just in a building that had an electrical fire, and then spent 16 more hours in the building afterwards (small fire, cleared by the fire department and deemed safe to reopen, contained to 1 dryer at work.) but seems the smoke has made my work clothes smell.

I am just getting ones, too cheap of clothing to fuss with trying to save...

No chance of the employer making good I suppose?

Sorry to laugh but it would seem the right thing to do for a good employer.

Fixing the a/c so we don't have to suffer in heat would be something a good employer would do as well.

I am not looking forward to the weekend, I figure if its 78-79F inside now, how hot will it be inside when it's 32-33C outside this weekend and next week.

If I had the 3,000 to fix the a/c, I'd just pay for it myself.
