Be thankful you aren't living in Cheektowaga or North Tonawanda or the dreaded 'south towns' of Buffalo

Credit where it's due.

We did get 5 months of spring, summer and autumn.

I hope we don't have to wait for a mid-may thaw again.

"Cardiologist Barry Franklin, an expert in the hazardous effects of snow removal" tells us:
  • snow shoveling raises blood pressure and heart rate more than some other forms of exercise
  • cold air constricts blood vessels
  • cardiac risks are higher in early morning
  • so dangerous that he advises anyone over the age of 55 not to do it

BBC News - Why do so many people die shovelling snow?

Well that's the warning. Where's the content? There's nothing on the page to listen to.

Weird. I found another link of a page that looks identical...except it does have a 'play' on it.

We all walk to the next bus stop - no buses due for 25 minutes!! I was tempted to go back and slap him as he sat there all warm reading his newspaper.
I was pretty well wrapped up, but still, 25 minutes in -24C really sucks.

I'm just looking out of the lad as I heard that JamesM is a bit of a ladies man.

Hmmm, the scenery is here but the quaint architecture is limited. Winnipeg got built up more while Regina was still under canvas. No comment on crumpet.

What a coincidence, I am eating some crumpet right, as I read this thread on my iPad. For the avoidance of doubt, Warburtons with butter and marmalade.
