furnace problems.

Hi all
Just a simple question to all those in ns. Our furnace is playing up and wondered if anybody could recommend a good company to replace it. Also can you give me a ball part figure for an oil furnace for a 2800 sq ft house.
Cheers

Can't really offer any advice about a company or furnace but have you had an EnerGuide audit done on your place?

If not, it might be worth looking into before you go ahead with the replacement..

Didn't the Federal Govt can the Energuide grant programme as one of their austerity measures? Or did I imagine that?

I think that's right, but the provincial part of it is still in effect. I'll see if I can get confirmation of that somewhere...

"Homeowners who had a "D" evaluation performed before March 31, 2010, or had an evaluation appointment booked and registered by March 31, 2010, are eligible to receive both provincial and federal rebates.

Homeowners who have a "D" evaluation performed after March 31, 20010 will be eligible for the provincial rebates, as well as the zero-interest loan program."

Awesome typo..

I believe you can lease an oil furnace from Irving, and i'd imagine Wilsons also. Our home report guy told us it worked out about the same as purchasing one, and the lease company maintain it.
Our furnace is 37 years old, so we'll probably be looking into this.

DON'T use The Burner Guys! I had them out at the beginning of the year to replace 2 stopcocks & a circulating pump. Both valves started weeping at the joints within 3 months & I ended up going online to learn how to replumb the pump the right way up! F*****g useless, lovely bloke but useless.
I service it myself now..
Depending on the make of furnace they repair them forever, I'd only look at getting a new one if yours is utterly knackered..

Don't use Best Burners next to me. Give Marcelle a call at Sure Air Systems (he is behind the little blue stores on the way to my house). 902 827 5657. He is really great and will not charge you a penny more than he needs to.

Our furnace played up last year - we called our Best Burners - they told me we need a whole new furnace. I called Marcelle for a second opinion...he opened it up and found there was a dead mouse in the fan. He even cleaned out the furnace for free for me...and got rid of the mouse!
