Friendly Ontarians

So I was told that Maritimers were friendlier than any other Canadians and was wondering what sort of welcome we would get on arrival in Ontario.

I am pleased to say that Ontarians so far are lovely! Very friendly people!:thumbsup:

Well we have spoken to our neighbours more in the three weeks we have been here than in the three years in NS if I'm honest... That being said, here we are all living on a building site so there is this feeling that we all need to be united against the builders! Lol

We keep hearing that Onarians are NOT friendly, when we rell people of our planned relocation, so it's good to hear thats not quite true

I would say you have nothing to worry about. :)

I found everyone in Ontario friendly except in Toronto where they were less so, but no worse then any other large city, but the smaller the city the friendlier they were. ( I experienced Whitby, Oshawa, Port Hope and Cobourg, and Toronto.)

I live in Ontario. I'm not friendly. I did, however, think of you when we drove up highway 6 from Guelph to cottage country a couple of weekends ago. It was a summer Sunday so we passed very many vehicles of interest, I lost count at 50. On that road, just south of Mount Forest, there's a dealer in old Land Rovers (some Jags as well), in Varney there's a dealer in aging Americana on one side of the road and a dealer in vintage trucks on the other. That's a nice drive so someone on a recce, especially after the leaves have turned, might want to take that route and perhaps chat to one or more of the car dealers, get a feel for how friendly or not their scene is.

No more or less friendly than anywhere else in my experience. All depends on who is around you.

When I lived a bit out of town the other people in the building were very friendly. Having fires, racing go-karts around, running over to help clear up when a mini-tornado came through and wrecked the barn of a neighbour etc.

On the flip side, I've lived in the city for a year now and still don't know the names of anyone else in my building.

In my experience Canadians are friendly when you're providing the food and beer.

They are as friendly as you want them to be.

They also like a good curry. Not too hot, and definitely a meat based one otherwise they start looking more shifty than usual and make for the door. :)
