I was going through my photos the other day and remembering how particularly spectacular the Autumn colours were this year, in terms of diversity and intensity. I think it was because we had an unusually cold snap before and during the change. Some years the colours can be a tad subdued, but with this one they were really zinging.

The photos probably don’t do it justice - taken with my phone.

I meant to post at the time, but Autumn is really busy for us (soooo many leaves to rake up and pre-winter prep) and then I fell into a mini pit of despair after I had to go and get our winter clothes and other winterising paraphernalia back out of our storage unit, a process that undeniably confirmed to me that I am STILL HERE (in Quebec) for yet another winter.

In the Vancouver reddit someone posted a photo of cherry blossoms, so some early signs of spring popping up slowly.

Aye, thanks. (Sorry, I don't know more Scottish - my French is severely lacking too).

Hmmm, seriously jealous of that. Three to four months behind, here (possibly)

Are you in Estrie or somewhere close to the US border. It looks beautiful.

I like the second and third especially. A sunny day helps.

Yes, good point, still it's a bit frustrating, I mean, the phone is just for snaps really. I'd love a digi SLR

eerm, both actually. But yes, the 3rd photo looks over toward the Green Mountains and Jay peak in Northern Vermont.

It is beautiful around here, which is one of the reasons I have found it hard to leave. The scenery has certainly helped me keep my head above the water, these past few years. And I do worry that when I finally move, I end up in a place which isn't as uplifting and interesting, in that respect.

Came across this on reddit, appears Vancouver had the sunniest April on record in 2021.

For comparison for fun, San Diego averages 276 hours of sun in April.

We could get a little snow later this week. It won't stay though. Without a few days of good soaking rain quite a bit of SE Sask is looking at drought conditions.

Looks like Vancouver had quite the storm last night.

One downside to trees near houses, sometimes they fall a little too close, lucky for this house, the tree wasn't quite tall enough to damage the house but came fairly close, door bell cam caught it in action.

Pretty cool videos people took on reddit.

More Saskatchewan weather; rain, chance of snow, air quality advisory (smoke from a forest fire up north near PA Prince Albert which has already forced 70 homes to evacuate). We really need the rain.
It's just the start of the fire season here, and I'm wondering how the government will cope if there are mass evacuations like there were from La Ronge and Fort Mac some years ago. Finding space for everyone in other towns and flying them south and putting them up in hotels was a big challenge in pre-pandemic times.

A tornado went by here on the weekend. Neat to see but it was within a quarter mile of the barn I was staining.
