Flights from US

Just a Quick Question - some friends from the UK want to meet up in Florida next May. There are no direct flights from Vancouver - We live about 2 hours from Seattle and they do direct flights from there.... a lot cheaper too! Does anyone think this will be a problem? Has anyone travelled to the US to fly on elsewhere? We are not PR, we are on 3 year work permits - we can get a 90 day visa from the border crossing.

I do it routinely. Most of the passengers at the Buffalo and Bellingham airports are people who live in Canada.

Lots of people do it. There was an interesting prog on telly the other night about Plattsburgh airport in NY State. It bills itself as "Montreal's US Airport" and its website is available in French. Easy to see why. Very close to Montreal and cheap flights within the US (OK, Florida, but Quebeckers don't go anywhere else).

We're planning a trip south in the Winter and I will certainly be looking at Plattsburgh as a departure point (rules out Cuba, natch).
