I think your only option is Glasgow. Zoom do fly to Halifax from Glasgow but the service doesnt run in the winter (i think it begins in May)

There used to be a service from Manchester to Halifax by Canadian Affair but they stopped it in 2006 and havent brought it back so far.

We fly Zoom from Glasgow (we live in Lancashire), and we drive up the night before and get room and 3 weeks parking in the Erskine Bridge hotel via holiday extras.com. It costs about £50

Well worth it, and it adds a day to the holiday!!

Have a fab time. NS is truy beautiful,
:D

Hi

Just as an extra to the OP thread, we were going to book Zoom for 14/05 from Gatwick, but they are now fully booked until the 24/5, so if you are going to fly with them book your tickets asap!!

We have now ended up going through Canadian Affair where the prices wern't bad about £300 return for Halifax return.

We are off for our first reccie of NS:thumbsup:

We live in Staffordshire an always fly from Gatwick (or Heathrow in Winter). The journey isn't too bad and parking is quite cheap and convenient at both.

Where in Derbyshire are you?

Thanks for your suggestions everybody.

After checking the mileage it seems that Gatwick is much closer than Glasgow so I guess we will head south.

We have found some flights for approx £230 using Air Transat site Gatwick to Halifax in May.

Don't know whether to take kids or not yet because the amount we want to cram in might bore them rigid !!!

Need an efficient route round NS to see all we want to see.

DestinationNovaScotia we live in Chesterfield :)

It might be easier flying Manchester to Belfast then transferring to the Zoom flight direct to Halifax. Be aware though it currently operates June to October under a trial run.

As previous posters state the London Airports are those that schedule the flights on a year round basis.

Canadian Affair had direct flights to Halifax, Montreal and ottawa from Manchester but there was not enough demand so the routes were shown the door which was a shame. Hopefully they may position these routes again when the market shows growth.

Have a nice Easter Weekend all! :)
