My office found it rather amusing when I apologised for being a right numpty.

Numpty is now starting to catch on around here....worryingly payroll dept are starting to use it.

I taught most of my fellow students at school the true meaning of rattarsed....... in my defense, I invited them to our Christmas party and liberally plied them all with a little bit of what does them good....

A couple of weeks back my boss asked me what a twat was and was it a good or bad thing.
I'm guessing he was called one. Probably not too far off the mark.

Twat. That just rolls right off the tongue doesn't it.

Metaphorically of course.

LOL - I just resigned from one of my jobs today and called her a twat.... she is... it was an apt description.

Anyone who books a 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 7pm 60 minute massages without leaving any time in between them to talk to the client, get them on and off the table or change the sheets and then moans about the therapist running 50-60 minutes late by the end is delusional... WE have told her and told her that she needs to book at least 10 minutes between clients but she won't do it because she might "loose money'... yeah and you don't loose money by pissing off your clients (who will never come back a second time if they have to wait 50minutes for their appointment) AND your therapists then????? Not to mention the extra she has to pay her receptionist at the end of the day in overtime because we are always running late as a result of her booking policy...

she IS a twat! And a very poor business manager to boot.

Totally un-PC, but "spaz" is a current favourite in our house. If you say it without the "tic" bit Canadians won't follow you, but God help you if you accidentally follow through on the last syllable...

"Wanker" I think is a quintessentially British slang term as is "Bollocks". I did have to explain to someone recently why dogs bollocks were good things.

It amazes me that Canadians call each other wankers and no-one gets a smack in the gob for it.

Although wanker per se isn't as bad as calling someone a ******, I've always tried to tell Canadians that it probably isn't a good idea to call a British person a wanker - it's not a jolly term of endearment.

I disagree with that...."Wanker" can be a term of affection twixt good friends, rather like ozzies use "Barsteward". As with everything, it's in the context and useage and your average Canadian isn't going to get that easily.

"Nobcheese" is another expression that I use here that raises some eyebrows.
