FAO people in Edmonton

A friend informed me about a place called 'The Hub Cigar Shop' just next to Hudsons on Whyte Ave.

They sell Heinz Beans for half the price they go for in West Edmonton Mall... ($5.99 for a 4 pack) they have loads of different flavours of crisps, even Pot Noodles, Salad Cream and Frey Bentos pies!!!

Check it out!

You can get salad cream everywhere I find these days. My sister has just emailed me about the availability of the stuff for when she comes to visit, it is apparently in her family a holiday essential along with a certain type of tea bag and weetabix:eek:

I know, she just might have to put up with Tetly tea rather than the one you can only get an ooooh out of (typhoo). I am pretty sure the Salad Cream and Weetabix requirements are for my nephew, must be his fave things to eat at the mo'. I will have to tell her to bring the custard creams though:rofl:

Walmart cheap beans are as good as any I find too. I mistakenly picked up some with pork in the other day and didn't notice until after I had cooked them, it looked like someone had snotted in the bowl, so I didn't eat them, it was until OH was tidying the kitchen and he looked at the tin and said it wasn't snot it was pork:blink:

Surely Fray Bentos pies are a meat-product, and therefore banned from importation into Canada?

But do they sell cordial/squash?! A kindly colleague just returned from a UK trip with 2 bottles of Tesco apple & blackcurrant which we swiftly polished off, but it's rekindled our craving and I'm so loathe to pay $7 for Ribena in Save On (plus Ribena isn't apple & blackcurrant....(
