expatshield - did i miss something?
i have used expatshield free for over a year now, only use it to watch BBC top gear and a couple of other shows.
now when i try and log on and go to iplayer it brings up hotspotshield. saying i cant access iplayer without paying them $4.99 a month. is this just me or is it a change to their T&Cs? if so is there another way round it? i could just pay the cash but would rather not if i dont have to! (ps i have searched and read the previous posts on expat shield and they dont deal with this specific issue before i get flamed for not using the search button ) TYIA |

Re: expatshield - did i miss something?
I too went to watch Mock the week, and found that its all pay now for BBC. However, I did notice something else with BBC iPlayer when I went on via freecloud : It asks if you have the BBC downloader yes / no. When you click "No" and download it, it downloads the files to a folder on your computer ( not to the iPlayer as it did before ) and when you access the files in their new location, nothing on the computer will play them. Has anyone else hit this bump? I have no idea what is going on, whether its just me; BBC; freecloud or what. BTW, iPlayer is still on there but the website appears to just be bypassing it.

Re: expatshield - did i miss something?
I've just come across this problem so after researching info on here found that Media Hint is brilliant and works for ITV player also, no messing about it just works. :)
The iplayer desktop thingy has been replaced by a supposed simpler downloader but i cannot get it to work at all. It says download, i click yes, it says do you have the downloader, i click yes then it sits for ever on 0 MB doing nothing???? |
Re: expatshield - did i miss something?
Just saw this one too - it has it as a chrome/firefox extention or as a stand-alone program.
http://thenextweb.com/apps/2013/01/2...m-any-country/ I just downloaded the stand alone and am now watching bbc iplayer without any problem, but I couldn't access the itv player. :) |
