Eurovision 2015 and lets nuke Montenegro.

Yes its that time of year again where millions will be tuned in to watch Eurovision 2015. I of course would sooner watch paint dry or the grass grow but hey Im entitled to my opinion.
What is interesting is that those nice folks who live in Montenegro and judge the competition have given the UK zero yes diddly squat on SIX occasions since the competition began.
However, the feeling seems to be mutual because no acts from either Montenegro or Serbia have never been awarded any points by the UK.
I just hope one day Montenegro asks for EU membership and the UK can reply in kind.
Come on Electro Velvet :o

Offensive thread title.

Other than that I don't know anybody who pays any attention to Eurovision and it's political voting any more.

If you're going to wear women's clothes, that's your business. But leaving them at your place of work is probably cause for a national security concern

I have hardened my heart to Europe, as you can't live in one place while loving somewhere other better:zzz:

But....I soooo miss Eurovison crap, life just isn't fun without it....I used to have one Telly in the house tuned to France and the other tuned to England and six European groups ranging from one to another room discussing tactics...useless but fun:thumbup:

Some facts about the Eurovision song contest:
  • I haven't watched it since I was kid
  • Half of the vote comes from the public, the rest is wholly deemed "political"
  • I hope our UK contestants do well, not only as their tune is catchy, but:
  • Bianca has cystic fibrosis and...
Alex's sister is someone I know personally. They're from a very close-knit family. Nice people! Alex's sister is the woman who, a couple of years ago, went through that very horrible (and public) ordeal with that utter dirtbag, Justin Lee Collins.

The main thing wrong with Eurovision, at least the last time I watched it in 1988, is that the "music" is toxically bad.

It's a bit like listening to the hype of a European Cup but it's being played by pub teams with hangovers.

I've watched Eurovision since about 1959. Black & white, 405 lines, Katie Boyle, voting by using telephone, voting charts printed in Radio Times - "so you can see if you agree with the judges".
Now in my 70's and still watching it - it's become a drug! Watched both semi finals on BBC3 and now downloading final from Filmon to watch tonight, with a few beers and nibbles. At least UK got some points! Oh, and I shout at the voting fixes as well.
Plus when you get to my age you don't give a #### what people think of you!

Oh totally agree the music is just well beyond Bathos, it's an art form in itself. The histrionics, the singing grandmothers the lesbian snogging and flyaway clothing make it an unmissable tour de force...one always wonders what they might possibly come up with next.
