Hello fellow Lancashire lass ;)

Was it this time last year that one happened as well. Hubby and me didn't feel a thing but I remember people taking about it.

Nothing if not predictable. And I don't mean the earthquake.

I've lived in B.C. for the last year. Apparently we're expecting the "big one" to hit some time in the next few hundred years, but I've never felt so much as a tremor. I'm wearing a hard hat at all times, just in case.

The Ottawa area has an earthquake roughly every five days, apparently. Small ones, obviously, although I have noticed a couple of them. Ottawa had a tornado last Saturday.

Not wishing to feel left out in the earthquake stakes, we decided to have one in Newfoundland last night. Of course at the time (about 11:30pm last night) I thought it was a truck or a plane going by, but turns out it was a genuine, proper earthquake. Who knew?!

On January 8 I was in San Jose, Costa Rica when there was a quake at 1.21 in the afternoon. It was the volcano called Poas. I was having lunch in a restaurant and the wine glasses suddenly started jumping up and down on the table. Everyone was out in the street within seconds. It registered 6.2 and I was 12 kms from the epicenter. Buildings collapsed and there were numerous fatalities. It wasn't much fun and never mind that I did get a free lunch I would rather not experience that again !
