Why would they need to rename? The business may have been named for the town or the street originally but it the street name is changed to, for example, Trudeau Street FKA Dundas Street, that doesn't affect the businesses.

The rename is a government thing, like using metric. If you're dealing with some levels of government then it's Trudeau street and there's a mandate that people on it stand 1.82 metres apart. if you're dealing with the public then it's Dundas and 6'.

More for reputational reasons than legal reasons ! Not sure if Dundas Kebab would like being in the wokists firing line.

I don't imagine anyone outside the internet and the government pays any attention. I think the idea of renaming exists independently of real life. It's certainly not a factor in kebab marketing.

I suppose so. Maybe just a storm in a teacup.

Regina has been ahead of the re-naming game for ages, but the fact our streets and schools were named after land swindlers and racists had been common knowledge for years so gives us an unfair advantage.

I notice downtown Edmonton & Calgary don't use names for streets so they appear not to be having problems other cities are. Was that good planning on their part or just wanting to frustrate drivers who don't add the correct N, S, E & W after the street number

Wait a minute, isn't using anglo names for Indian tribes unacceptable now? The Washington Redskins had some trouble with that. They should change these names to something more correct, Dundas maybe.

If you say Toronto, Ontario, Canada you're already speaking Mohawk.

Windsor Dr
Edmonton Ave
Vancouver Street & Vancouver Ave (this one is debatable as it could also be Vancouver, WA or Vancouver the person)
Halifax Street
Quebec Ct & Quebec Pl
Alberta Pl & Alberta Dr
Saskatchewan Ave
Ontario Ave
Ottawa Ave
Regina Ave
Kelowna Rd

Those are the ones I could find, there could be more, but its not easy task to find them all.

Which way is the numbering?

When you go one end to the other do you go back in time?
