May I be so bold as to correct this suggestion for the Canadian market - which would be a Porcupine.

Edited to add just saw Oinks follow up.

Really?? $75? For a hedeghog?

Hedgehogs were big in the Canadian market a few years ago.

Likely been usurped by something even more exotic.

Give or take 20 dollars. You can get lemmings as well, although I think they're prone to depression.

Probably better to live in SK or MB if you are considering a lemming

I suppose thats because people wouldn't want to shell out too much money on a pet that spends its days thinking how to end them. Bit like a furry version of that robot in HHGTTG.

"Even more influential was the 1958 Disney film White Wilderness, which won an Academy Award for Documentary Feature, in which staged footage was shown with lemmings jumping into sure death after faked scenes of mass migration. A Canadian Broadcasting Corporation documentary, Cruel Camera, found that the lemmings used for White Wilderness were flown from Hudson Bay to Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where they did not jump off the cliff, but in fact were launched off the cliff using a turntable....."

One could argue the cliff was better than having to remain in Calgary

I think our current hamster is part-lemming, because he loves diving off his balcony into his food bowl .

Is it wrong to find that part of the quote hilarious (obviously not the action ).
