There are a few firms moving their manufacturing back to the UK, the USA as well. There have been a few stories on the BBC website on this subject, I think Aquascutum were supposed to be moving their manufacturing base back to Corby even though I think they're owed by a Chinese company.
Fred Perry shirts are still made in Leicester, they sell a lot of their stuff in Japan and the buyers come over unannounced quite a bit just to check out that production hasn't been moved abroad. They say that the product doesn't have the same value if its not made in the UK.
I get all of my products made in England and pay extra to have a Made in the UK Union Jack label sewn in, it works for me.

Patriotism, a sense of shared sacrifice, authentic identity, quality of product plus the knowledge that the factory most likely won’t collapse.

I have the UK label sewn in, not just stuck on because a lot of places that buy my stuff want it actually made in the UK, not the Far East.
I find that there's far more resistance in Canada to goods that are from China than I ever experienced in the UK or Europe.

Yes, its where my house is.

What has that got to with what I wrote ? You could compare it the people who sell German products over here, its where they're made. I do feel some responsibility towards the people at the factories who produce my goods. They've supported me for 20+ years during some difficult times. Maybe if the UK, France, Spain etc. hadn't kept exporting jobs with no other thought apart from the cost, the unemployment rate wouldn't be so high. Coal is cheaper from China, safety isn't a concern, so you don't have to worry about the cost, like the clothing factory in Dhaka that burnt down yesterday, its somewhere else so that's alright.

Is that the shop just inside the door of the Mall? I live down the road in Pickering, and I have bought shoes there.

No, not the real shop, but the one to the left that used to be a supermarket.
