That's funny you shared these because on Canadian TV right now are the "My Tide" ads for Tide laundry detergent, which are the exact same format. Guess Tide and Ariel are part of the same multinational conglomerate. I find them pretty irritating to be honest.

i miss adverts that just told you what the product/service was and didn't try to be funny about it
seems like every ******* advert here they're trying to make jokes and be quirky or funny...
the ones that realllllllyyyyyy makes me want to drag the guys face up and down a roughcast wall right now, are for Alberta Toyota Dealers on the radio. Guy is convinced Toyotas are made by aliens because they last so long, and he's a whiney little **** too

Advertising is such a monied powered industry that they are going to get good ads for the audience...maybe if we demanded more, they'd give us better ads?
I fear that ads of this sort will disappear as the target audience will undoubtedly change.
