Dine Out Vancouver

So who's taking advantage of it?

We're booking our places for the coming weeks. So far we're booked into:

The Salmon House on the Hill
CinCin

Any recommendations?

HID is always threading to do this but we've never quite get round to it. I'd imagine both of those to be okay. The same company as Cin Cin has West which is up the street from me and the Bluewater Cafe which we go to quite a bit.

Oh, does Dine Out have a list for places outside of Toronto?

How quaint.

Google winterlicious and eat (haha) your hearts out.

This place might not be fancy enough for you but it's absolutely delicious food. It's only a couple of blocks from my friend's house so we get takeout from there every time I'm in town. There's a good youtube video about the place too but damned if I'm going to copy out all that url.

I've not been in one for years (probably since 2005). I might have to pop across the water to the one in Yaletown.

We grabbed a last minute Italian yesterday at Novo on Burrard and 5th. Cheap, cheerful, and actually pretty nice. Food was home made and very fresh. Good service too.

The new Green Lettuce is in Surrey, the original is on Kingsway half a block off Victoria in Burnaby.

I did West last year (25 metres from home!) -it was amazing!

I went to the Keg on Friday and have a reservation for the Boathouse on the 31st. :)

Not a fan of chain restaurants anymore. The keg has gone way downhill over the years and prices have gone way up for what you get. Used to enjoy the help yourself salad bar and unlimited sour dough.

My kids used to love White Spot, same there, value gone way down. Now, kept waiting for tables even when there are plenty free, waiting to be served and leave hungry as the portions seem much smaller now.

Dropped into another on the way home from work a few years back, Night and Day I believe, they were offering lamb, it was more like mutton. The sheep must have died of old age it was so tough.

Still enjoy the Beach House at Dundarave and the Observatory on Grouse.

We've been in there before going to watch a film. I wouldn't write home about it.

If you like poncy plated food you might want to try the Hawksworth.
