Default Did anyone else get sick the day before their medical :(

Title says it all really.

Got medicals booked for tomorrow in Red Deer (yay) woke up this morning with a bloody huge abcess - so just taking Advil because I don't want any antibiotics in my system when I go for blood tests etc.

Seriously? 1 day before?

Hopefully i'll just have to pay for a medical for one person because as I've just told PiffPoff, I look like i've got a conjoined twin at the minute. Maybe its stress induced as it happened 3 days before the wedding too.

Oh honey, no we weren't sick but a good friend of ours had an experience on the day of their medicals and the Dr was really good and it all went totally fine.

I was thinking of you last night and messaged you, must have been sending out stressed vibes

The other person's experience of a much more serious nature and like I say it all went fine,

Good luck

OO get well soon. You know if a doctor has given you antibiotics for the twin then take them - you don't want it to get worse. I don't see why taking them will mess up a medical.

Don't you have to have the plague or something for medicals to be a problem for spouse PR apps? I wouldn't worry - unless you do have the plague, then you should obviously.

Ah, hope you and the twin feel better soon - and best wishes for tomorrow - I'm sure it will be fine.

Edit - well actually, I hope the twin feels awful and drops off, but you know what I mean!

If I wasn't vain I would post a picture of my photos that I had to have done for the medicals today.

Not sick but I was kept waiting for 90 minutes past the appointment time, offered no explanation nor apology...and he asked if I was nervous as my blood pressure was a little high

At one point he sat looking at my file and whispered "what's your name?"

I heard him but I couldn't believe that was really what he said having used it already and having it right in front of him, so I said "pardon?" thinking he must have said something else.

I think it was a sneaky way to check my hearing.

I actually used to drink with the Dr that did my medical here - It was a bit strange having a drinking buddy fiddling with your bits and pieces

I got suspected (though not proven) kidney stones a month before mine, which caused a little worry.

You'll be fine Moo, the abscess is just symptomatic of your rock 'n' roll lifestyle - the doctor will understand

well all done and a piece of cake - the physical was a breeze the doctor was wonderful , normal medical questions, ears, eye, throat check, girly lumpy bits checked and all fine!!!

Then went round the corner for the blood test I hate needles and the woman was wickedly nice - she knew I was nervous and said "Well I think one of us should look away, and it'd probably not be me!" which totally relaxed everything - so 2 phials of blood later (had to have a Hep C test because I have tatoos ) i'm out the door having a puff on a fag!!!!!

Last thing, drove 5 mins away to the Xray dept - well blink and you'd have missed this exam - done paid and out in less than 5 mins!

Cost $150 for physical
$127 for bloods
$60 for Xray

Total $337 ad a nice drive out to Red Deer (got to catch up with our lovely piffpoff).

Abcess wasn't a problem as I popped it last night before I went to bed (actually that was pretty gross!!!!)
