The Danish are a very sensible bunch of people. It's totally disgusting. If it has some nutritious value then this has to be unintentional because it was clearly discovered by complete accident in some hovel back in the C19. I think some drunk brewing beer thought "what on earth is that ghastly sticky shit at the bottom of the barrel? I know, I'm so drunk I'll try it ... then jar it up".
