Manitoba reported 502 cases today, that is quite a large number for a fairly small population.

Looks like NO more AstraZeneca coming to Ontario anytime soon.
Still haven't heard from any officials saying whether a second dose of another vaccine is ok and time is running out for us that had the jab 10+ weeks ago.
Anyone heard anything?

Last I heard Canada is expecting 650,000 doses from COVAX initiative but has no delivery schedule yet for it. Also in negotiations with the US to try and secure some AZ from them, but also nothing confirmed yet or timeline. AZ may send Canada 1.5 million doses in June, but nothing confirmed yet.

BC hinted last week they may when the time comes let people choose Pfizer or Moderna for their 2nd shot, sounded like they don't expect to receive sufficient supplies to give everyone a 2nd dose of AZ who needs one.

BC tabled legislation that will bring in paid sick leave, initially just for COVID related leave, but in January 2022 they appear to plan to make it permanent for all employees with changes to the employment standards act. It's estimated that 50% of the work force does not have access to paid sick time.

Not surprising when you consider the amount of COVID positive people who arrive at Pearson each week.

I thought awhile ago that International Travel was nothing to worry about as the cases were low and people arriving were providing negative test results? There again it could be the hotel employees who are infected and passed it on.
One thing for sure they won't shut Pearson down for passenger flights and now many refuse to quarantine so don't expect anything different.

Latest figures are showing the majority of passengers testing positive were traveling on domestic flights.

True it is around 80% for domestic flights but that leaves 20% to account for and we need to find a way of blaming foreigners

Logical conclusion to that would be to put domestic arrivals into quarantine hotels and wave through the international arrivals!

When we emigrated we arrived in Toronto on a domestic flight. Air India from Heathrow to Kennedy then America from La Guardia to Toronto. Anyone coming through a hub would count as domestic and Detroit, for example, had multiple landings per evening from China which then filled multiple jets to Toronto while I was commuting that way.

At the moment international arrivals need to complete hotel quarantine and test clear before taking domestic flights to complete their journeys.

After being told there will be no more AZ vaccine delivered to Ontario, next week almost 1/4 million doses will be delivered.
