Class 6 (Motorbike) Road Test

hey guys

just collected my bike today (Ninja 650R if anyone's interested) and was wondering if anyone else had come over from the UK and done the bike test here in Alberta?

Obviously with the license not being reciprocal, i've had to go do the knowledge test again, and had no problems with that at all  although its multiple choice, which is gonna be pretty easy anyway

basically just wanted to know if there's anything that might trip me up on the road test?

everyone i've spoken to says that coming from the UK i should actually be teaching the examiners how to ride...which will make me look like a douche if i fail haha!

No idea but good luck! I was peed off when they wouldn't accept my UK motorbike license and told me I had to do a test.... never got around to it, unfortunately.... there are some fantastic trips that you could do around here on a Ducati!!

Just keep upright, don't speed and you'll be fine:thumbsup:

OH did the course and the test in one week, he had to basically do a left turn, a right turn and drive on a gravel road. Oh, don't forget the shoulder checks. (I was lucky enough to get my license transferred;))

awesome!

yeah, i almost got lucky with the transfer...the girl at the registry was talking about it, and was about to just give me the entitlement when her colleague overheard and explained they couldn't transfer the bike license...gutted!

wanted to get the test out the way before the winter sets in, so i think i'll get it booked ASAP!

Bad luck on the transfer - the girl even asked a colleague, I know I was just lucky. Good luck on your test, watch out for the gravel (it's really bad where I am).

Weird! BC went from not exchanging driving licences to exchanging my car and bike straight over! I cant imaging the AB test will be much byonde how many beers must you drink before its safe to ride and how to put a helmet on the right way round :p

The multi question test is based on this: http://www.transportation.alberta.ca...deFINALWeb.pdf

if the road test is anything like the Ontario one, it's very similar to the UK one. You wear a radio and they follow you for about 20 minutes giving you directions. They're looking for your road positioning mostly. As long as you ride safely you'll pass.
