Citizenship receipt - Who is the payer?
Hi everyone,
Just completing the receipt to go in with citizenship application and I have a question. I paid on credit card for each application separately, so that everybody has their own receipt. On the receipt form it asks for payer information and client information. Does anyone know if the payer information should be the one person who paid for each application (aka me), or the person to whom the payment applies. There is zero information anywhere about this. It makes sense for the payer to be the person who paid (duh!), not least because a family can process all payments under one receipt, which is then attached to the application form. Thanks for the help. |
Re: Citizenship receipt - Who is the payer?
Hmmm that's what I was thinking. It's a difficult one isn't it. Well I took the plunge and assumed that as you can have one receipt for a whole family's applications, and considering each application is separate, that the payer is really the person who used their credit card for the transaction to which the receipt pertains, and not necessarily even one of the applicants.
There is space for Client ID and I have heard this is from the PR card. However as there is no guidance on this on the CIC website, and as I haven't yet been notified that I have a client ID, I'm going to leave this blank. Second guessing this and trying to skip a step would seem to be foolhardy, in particular when they make a big thing about signing exactly in the white box. On some other forums (Yes I get around don't I?!), people try logic to answer this question. I.e. the payer MUST mean the applicant, because how else could the receipt be tied to the application. Well my thoughts are if you've paid the right amount and the dates of birth on the receipt tie in with an application, does it really matter? Well I'll see in 5-6 months time won't I. |

Talking to yourself is the first sign of madness........
(I left client ID blank on both PR card renewal receipt and Citizenship app receipt.) |
