citizenship application

I have used the search function and found a few clues , however I am still wondering who has done their citizenship test / ceremony lately and how long did it take you from sending the application to finally receiving your document/passport? CIC quotes on their website 12-15 months for the whole process, is this a realistic time frame or has anyone been through with theirs quicker?
thanks
ww

oops, I think I posted in the wrong section, could the mods please move it to the main forum?

Don't know if this will help (as I was in Toronto) but I applied in October 2007, did the test in May and had the ceremony in July. I didn't get a Canadian passport but I think that should only take a few weeks.

that explain why I haven't got it yet:rofl:

Actually didn't see the point as I jumped ship 10 days after and I'd only just renewed my British one.

It takes approx 6 months from application to swearing-in ceremony. Then apply for your passport asap (I did it the same day as ceremony, applied for the passport in person, no mail), and that takes about 3 weeks to arrive.
