Workplace bullying
I heard a discussion on CBC radio the other day about this and they were giving advice on how to cope with it - things like having a physical distance between you and the bully, transfer to another department, look for alternative job but don't burn bridges as you need references etc.
There wasn't a single point on actually doing something about it. That old "it's the way it is" thing again.
A little surprising in the current climate

Re: Workplace bullying
I have a family member who was bullied at work. It was a small office so no other options available like moving departments.
The family member tried to resolve it and offered suggestions but the boss was friends with the bully so nothing was done.
Also went to the relevant provincial agency to file a formal complaint but they didn't offer any help so only option was to quit.
Really no way to resolve workplace bullying if the manager is friends with the bully.

Re: Workplace bullying
I find this type of behaviour reprehensible and unproductive. People in management have a responsibility to mentor and support their staff. That includes (I hate the phrase but it’s apt on this occasion) a zero tolerance policy on workplace bullying.

Never believe you don't have options, it's not good for you.

A claim has to be structured and documented and fit the criteria. Employment lawyers are also an option.
There are also spurious claims and some without foundation that WCB have to deal with.
