Chip Shops

Hi
Are there any chip shops in Vernon. My daughter was gutted at the thought of no chip shops and then I read that there was one in Kelowna so I wondered if there were any in Vernon. She also wants to know if you can get baked beans over there?

All the grocery stores sell chips. Plain and in flavours.

Generally they are French fries, except in the occasional F & C restaurant. Try

C-Lovers Vernon. 2501 53 Avenue, Vernon, BC. 250-558-0208

All you can eat for around $10!

I am in Ontario and baked beans are available in the supermarkets. I imagine it is the same all over Canada.

I can confirm that there are three "chip shops" in Kelowna, they exclusively serve the needs of the local British expat population. The hordes of sweating beer bellied oafs queue up at opening time for their regular over priced serving of lard and salt, eagerly discussing the weather, television and the price of cheese.

Vernon has fewer Brits per capita, however there are just as many "chip shops" to serve the masses. I recall there is one located in the old railway station building, Seafarers I think. And it's not Lord Chumleys. Which is frankly, a heap of old rat shit. C-Lovers is more than acceptable as they sell mushy peas. Let's be honest, it's not really a chip shop unless they sell mushy peas.

Chip shops: best avoided.

I introduced Mushy Peas to my neighbours at our last Bonfire Party and despite several looking a little strange at our bright green mush, they tried it and when I turned back there was none left for me :frown:

I love mushy peas and mint sauce :p just in a cup and eaten on its own with a spoon.. slurp :p

Baked beans?

I haven't been to a single country in the world where they weren't available at the supermarket.

I think they are referring to UK recipe Heinz beans. They are available in NB from Pete's Frootique but at a serious cost of about $2.59 per tin.
