Re: channel 4 On demand (4OD)

what is "channel 4 on demand" (All 4)?

Can this not be watched or accessed via a DNS or VPN, kodi, filmon or one of those free TV links that you get BBC channels, how does it differ?

http://www.camposat.tv

.

It's the Channel 4 version of BBC iPlayer.

OK, thanks. Maybe I'm missing something?

I just opened the camposatTV link in my previous post, then CH4 to view it. Is it that complicated to view from outside the UK?

4 OD is a podcast, much like bbc I player, you hit the red button and you can either watch behind the scenes shows or for Wimbledon for example, you can choose the live match you prefer rather than the match being shown on the main channel. It's not that new, but UK is streets ahead of its North American cousins on this technology.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to access this online. Sorry op.

4OD became All4 a few months ago.

dunno, just throwing it out there, is there not an 'App' for it somewhere?

something like the following

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ondemand&hl=en

maybe a (LMGTFY) 'Google' that someone could find?

Tbh, this service is flaky enough from the UK. I'm pretty sure that it is hosted from an old oily x486 sitting in the corner of some guy's leaky garage. It is also the only one of the major free OD services in the UK that requires a mandatory sign up.

I wouldn't fancy using over a transatlantic VPN much tbh.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the one I use. Works perfectly

Possibly because you use it outside of peak hours being in Vancouver and all but I'm not sure. In the UK, All 4's performance is well known for being dreadful especially during peak periods (the Paralympics etc).

I have Unotelly (which now only 'pretends' to be an anonymiser service) and a Roku 3 box (actually two of them). We use these for iPlayer, ITV Player, 4OD, Channel 5 etc

If you go down the Roku route, make sure you ONLY buy one of the players that is available in the UK (ie a 1, 2 or 3) and not one of the other models, as the software for the versions not sold in the UK does not support the players for UK channels.

BestBuy and LondonDrugs usually have them, although you may only find them in-store, as the website will show out-of-stock if the store has only 1 on the shelf (although they do re-stock).

Register your Roku on the Roku.co.uk website, use UnoTelly (or similar) and everything works.

Or, just use Unotelly and watch on a PC. We prefer the TV version and Roku boxes aren't expensive.

I recommend Roku 3 if you can find one - faster processor than the Roku 1
