Celebrity Croakers 2020

Alrighty, here we go again!!

Review of the rules:

-Pick 5 people you think will kick the bucket this year.
-Points are awarded as 100 minus age at time of death. For example, if you pick Prince Philip, he is currently 98, turns 99 in June. So if he croaks in May you get 2 points, in August you get 1 point.
-You can choose one of your existing five picks to be your joker. This person would get you double points if they croak.
-When one of your picks croaks, you can pick a new one. If your joker croaks, you can pick a new one. Your new joker can be one of your existing picks, or can be your new pick.
-The death has to be reported by mainstream media to count - any major news source is fine (BBC, CBC, CNN, TMZ, etc.)

For anyone who played last year, I've put in your existing picks, feel free to change them.

Deadline to put in new pics is Monday, January 20th.

Get guessing!

Saying "Are you keeping well" to Ruth Ginsburg might be unwise.

Only in repeats.....

I wonder if they'll make a version of the old PI show and call it Fielding and Acorah (deceased).....

I’m going to change mine up but I need to relook again.

All of mine are nasty people so of course they won’t die anytime soon lol

@Sharkus -- Kirk Douglas is 104, so you won't get any points for him if he croaks. :) Might want to swap him out.

He'd only get you 1 or 2 points depending when he croaks, so not really a useful pick. That said, picking someone more likely to go means you might get to jump on an ambulance chaser pick later in the year... so it's a gamble!

Hahaha I can't take credit for the phrase, someone said it in a Croakers thread a few years ago and it cracked me up. It was fitting in this situation. Hah!

I am surprised that all the "ambulance chasers" aren't scrambling to add Des O'Connor to their lists.

I did actually do a search after my comment earlier. There were a few references to ambulance chasing, including an early one from me. But that's a well known expression.

My reaction was meant in the context of this annual thread, in particular an ambulance chaser pick - especially one at short notice to replace an original 'successful' selection.

dbd's contribution did indeed come up as the earliest I found with the necessary bit added, albeit 'choice' rather than pick.
