Ah bugger it. A rather fine actor I feel. I did enjoy As Time Goes By, and it was great to see the spiky dialogue between him and Judi Dench in Tomorrow Never Dies.

I suppose he was a bit typecast as the slightly bewildered and a little bit put-upon middle class gent somewhat out of his depth but struggling on regardless. But he played that role so well, and with spectacularly good timing as the foil for more flamboyant characters, even in otherwise rather bland and ordinary sitcoms.
