Jerry Stiller died. I remember watching Stiller and Meara (his wife of 62 years) on the Ed Sullivan show. The younger ones will remember him from Seinfeld.

Hats off to him, 98 is a great run. As soon as I saw his picture I remembered his role in The Russians Are Coming.

Even I am too young (old gimmer alert) to have heard of many 90+yr olds, so what chance have you got 👶

98 and still seemed relatively healthy the last few years, can't really complain about it, exceeded the expected life span for US male by nearly 20 years.

I only know of most of these older actors and movie/TV people as growing up in the 80's before cable, all the re-runs of TV shows from the 50's, 60's and 70's, otherwise I probably wouldn't know who most of them are, I am only really familiar with Carl Reiner because 1) his son was in the show with Archie Bunker, and 2) He was in Oceans 11, 12, 13 movies.

He also voiced a character in Toy Story 4 which was his final role.

Shows like MASH, Andy Griffith, Matlock, I love Lucy, Honeymooners, CHiPS, Threes Company, and such were near constant reruns during the day between the afternoon cartoons and the evening news, the 80's were interesting time, and all the local low budget commercials, where now commercials are all high budget, big brands mostly, but much of the day in the 80's outside prime time all the low budget local commercials, with their catchy jingles.

I only remember 1985 or so onward, and 1988 onward is the clearest, but 80's from what I remember was interesting decade.

it’s not so much the age of them, it’s just I haven’t heard of them. It was the same with that Leah Bracknell lady, but then I don’t watch Emmerdale.

I thought it was a cultural thing.

Possibly another many may not know, but Hugh Downs had died at 99.

He was a TV announcer, host, anchor for TV news program 20/20 from 1978 to retirement in 1999.

He retired from 20/20 in '99 and died in 2020 at age 99.

Little by little all the faces I grew up with on TV and leaving the world. Now I know how my parents must have felt in the 1990's.
