He wrote one of my all-time favourite songs, "Somewhere Out There" from the movie An American Tail. I walked down the aisle to that song when I got married.

93 isn't a bad run at all, but still sad to see him go. I loved The Avengers, and Steed was great, but because it was that time in my life, (puberty, a hair raising experience), my attention was focused at least as much on Mrs Peel.

Not quite a 'celebrity' but worthy of mention Sir Nicholas Winton ... at the grand old age of 106. Rest in Peace - you did good Sir and with a huge amount of humility and modesty.

I was really sad to read about this - but he really did live a full life, the amount of humility and modesty he demonstrated was mind-blowing.
